After 3 gruelling days of competition, our team Schaeffler Hypersonic clinch awards and set new standards not only in the Singapore F1 in Schools Landscape but also at the world's stage. This is the first time that a Singapore team has set new and high standards in this arena since 2006.
1) 2nd fastest time of 1.071s out of 25 international teams.
2) Fastest female reaction time Jolene Phua who raced with the Virgin Racing Driver, Lucas Di Grassi on race day
3) Best Team Identity award sponsored by Ferrari together with 4 signed Ferrari Caps.
4) Overall 10th position out of 25 teams.
During the competition, the team has been throughly exposed to the media including interviews to the media as well as setting an amazing feat by being the 2nd fastest time among all international teams. One of the main reasons for such a fast peforming car was the use of the super precision bearings on the car which set a fantastic time during the race. Jolene Phua had the fastest reaction time among all female competitiors and was selected to race with Saber Racing driver Kamui Kobayashi and Virgin Racing Luca Di Grassi. Thanks to the red race suits sponsored by Miki Marketing together with our red/white booth layout, our team won the best team identity.
Mr Hawazi Daipi (Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Manpower & Ministry of Health) was at the prize presentation spent some time talking to our team and was very impressed with the standards of the work that our team has done especially Xiang Zheng who impressed him with his extensive CFD technical knowledge number one spot on the podium. With our team of likeminded engineers, it is a year ripe with hope.
